Russ has recently recorded a comedy pilot for the BBC called ‘Semi-Detached’ with Denise Welch, Gaynor Faye and Bradley Walsh, let’s hope it’s commissioned!

Russ has recently co-starred in Last of the Summer Wine's 31st and final series on BBC 1 television.

Russ has been back treading the boards in London at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, starring as Fagin in Oliver!

Russ made a surprise appearance on ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ on Sat 21st of November 2009, making light of his guest spot in Casualty.

On the 14^th November 2009, Russ made a guest appearance as a pet shop owner Malcolm in one episode of this seasons Casualty. A source added, 'Russ had us all in stitches. He was constantly telling jokes on set.'

COMMENT FROM OLIVER AUDIENCE MEMBER ...”I saw him (Russ) last night in the new production and he is SO funny! Especially his ‘Reviewing The Situation!’ But I prefer the live version of ‘Pick A Pocket’ to the one on youtube, just because of the ending where he tries to sing the high note and he tells the boys they have no class. He then makes fun of that throughout by warning them he'll sing again! Such a good Fagin! Definately worth seeing!”

In 2008 Russ guest starred in the second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures’ in ‘Secrets Of The Stars’ written by Gareth Roberts.

In 2003 Russ’s 'See You Jimmy' character came third in The Glasgow Herald's poll to find the most Scottish person in the world.
